You believed. Jesus says the next step is baptism.
Before Jesus went back to heaven, He gave His followers one message for the whole world:
“Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.”
Mark 16:15–16
Look at the order. First you believe. Then you are baptized. Faith in Jesus saves you. Baptism is how you show it — to God, to people, and to yourself.
What baptism is
Five simple truths
A pictureYou go under the water and come up again. It shows what already happened inside: the old life is buried, a new life begins. (Romans 6:4)
A commandJesus told His followers to make disciples of all nations and baptize them. It is not an extra for special Christians. It is the first step for every believer. (Matthew 28:19)
A public yesYour prayer was between you and God. Baptism says it in front of others: I belong to Jesus now.
Not a paymentWater does not wash away sin. Jesus did that on the cross. Baptism does not buy salvation — it answers it.
Not somedayIn the Bible people were baptized soon after they believed. An official from Ethiopia saw water by the road and asked: “Here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?” (Acts 8:36)
A common question
I was baptized as a child. Do I need it again?
Many of us were baptized as babies by parents who loved God. That was their gift, and we do not look down on it.
Baptism in the Bible is the answer of a person who has personally believed. If you have this question, you are not alone. Talk it through with a pastor — we will gladly help you find one.
How it happens
Three steps

We help you find a church near you.Baptism belongs in a local church, with a pastor and people who will walk with you afterwards. We check churches before we point anyone to them. See the churches we checked.
You are baptized. In water, in front of witnesses. Your new life, in the open.
Are you ready to say it in front of others? Take the step.
Thank you. A real person will write to you soon, the way you chose. Until then, read Romans chapter 6 — it is about exactly this.
