Diamonds, emeralds, pearls — I am trained to tell you, to the dollar, what something is truly worth. Most things people chase are worth far less than the price they pay.

Then Jesus told a story about a merchant.

A dealer who spent his life searching for fine pearls. One day he found a single pearl so valuable that he went and sold everything he owned — and bought it.

That is the deal.

The Kingdom of Heaven is that pearl. You give what fades, and you gain what cannot be lost. After thirty years of weighing what things are worth, I have never seen a better trade.
