One honest minute. That's how eternity starts.
Below is the prayer people call “the sinner's prayer.” There is nothing magic about the words — God listens to hearts, not scripts. But if your heart means it, these words will carry it. Read it slowly. Pray it out loud. Then sign your name under it, so you never forget the day you said yes.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. … Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”Romans 10:9, 13
Lord Jesus, I come to You as I am — a sinner.
I believe You died on the cross for my sins,
and that God raised You from the dead.
Today I turn from my sin
and I open my life to You.
Be my Lord. Be my Savior.
Wash me clean. Make me new.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
From this day forward — I belong to You.
Amen.
If you prayed that and meant it — heaven heard you (Luke 15:10). Now do what people have always done under words they mean: put your name to them.
Not for us — for you. A signed thing is a remembered thing. This becomes the written record of your yes: the day, the name, the decision.
Today. Faith spoken out loud gets stronger (Romans 10:9–10). One text message counts.
