Focus on the Family

Dr. James C. Dobson founded Focus on the Family in 1977, and Jim Daly has led it since 2005. The ministry, based in Colorado Springs, says it gives significant help to more than two million families every year — through broadcasts, articles, books and a counseling team people can call.

Much of what it offers is free: an initial consultation with a counselor, paid for by donors; Plugged In, its reviews of films, shows and games for parents; and a large library of articles on marriage and parenting. Some things are paid — the Adventures in Odyssey Club and the Hope Restored marriage intensives, which offer payment plans and scholarships.
