Pastor Richard Wurmbrand and his wife Sabina were imprisoned in Communist Romania for their Christian witness. After their release, they founded The Voice of the Martyrs to make sure the world did not forget Christians suffering the same thing elsewhere — and to actually help them.
The ministry has grown into a global network supporting believers in the most dangerous and restricted countries for Christians: distributing Bibles, funding front-line workers, and publishing first-hand testimonies most Western Christians never otherwise hear.
Their own reporting sorts nations into three distinct categories of danger — “restricted,” “hostile” and “monitored” — rather than treating all persecution the same.
